Melissa Garvin
Intakes and transitions manager
For Melissa, working in the disability sector isn’t just a career, it’s personal. Having grown up supporting her brother who lives with a disability, she has seen first-hand the difference that the right support and environment can make in someone’s life. That lived experience continues to guide the way she connects with participants and families every day with compassion, honesty and genuine care.
With over eight years of experience across the disability, health and wellbeing sectors, Melissa has dedicated her career to helping people feel supported. Her background spans participant intake, community engagement, business development and program design. Whether coordinating a new move-in, hosting a community event, or strengthening partnerships, she approaches every interaction with a genuine commitment to creating meaningful experiences for the people she works with.
At MyLife Housing, Melissa leads our Intakes & Transitions function - supporting participants from the moment they enquire through to settling into their new home. She plays a key role in building strong relationships, nurturing connections and helping residents feel confident and welcomed throughout their housing journey. Known for her reliability and ability to bring people together, Melissa blends her lived experience with her professional expertise to ensure every person feels at home and part of a community that values them.
